Welcome to The Escape Collection, where luxury living meets sustainable innovation in tropical Port Douglas. For over five decades, the Morris family has left an indelible mark on the landscape of this vibrant coastal town, with a legacy of successful property developments that have shaped its character. From the iconic Thornton Villas, Treetops Resort, (now Ramada) to this latest endeavour, The Escape Collection.
Led by esteemed developer John Morris, The Escape Collection stands as a testament to their dedication to blending tropical elegance with contemporary architecture. With meticulous attention to detail and a passion for creating spaces that seamlessly integrate with their natural surroundings, each villa in The Escape Collection is a masterpiece of understated luxury.
What sets The Escape Collection apart is not just its stunning design, but also its groundbreaking commitment to sustainability. The development is Queensland’s first residential development to provide a community power-share agreement, harnessing solar energy to significantly offset CO2 emissions. This initiative is equivalent to removing 3,500 cars and their emissions from the roads for 25 years, demonstrating commitment to environmental responsibility.
To commemorate this milestone achievement, John Morris has honoured the memory of Rachel Carson, a pioneer in environmental conservation (and author of ‘Silent Spring’), by naming the development’s main street after her. Rachel Carson Lane symbolizes dedication to preserving the natural beauty of Port Douglas and its surroundings.
Demonstrating that sustainability and luxury can coexist harmoniously, the innovative energy solution not only benefits the environment but also offers the residents access to affordable, renewable energy without maintenance or capital investment.
At The Escape Villas are not just beautiful homes, their design supports a sustainable lifestyle that respects and nurtures the unique ecosystem of Port Douglas. Join us in pioneering a new era of environmentally conscious living, where luxury meets responsibility.
The essence of tropical living was forefront in the design brief for Escape Villas. Organic finishes and the layering of texture and colour were important considerations in Janet’s selections of surfaces and furnishings. The interiors were created with a passion for good design and a genuine understanding from decades of experience of tropical living in Port Douglas so are practical as well as aesthetically appealing. It was also an important consideration that each villa was created to be a unique interior yet still had a common thread with their neighbour. A neutral palette was selected for hard surfaces allowing the gardens and golf course views to shine through the vast windows. While the interiors pops with colour in accents in the unique art works and soft furnishings.
